About Colette

Colette was born in Germany where she grew up becoming an athlete. By the time she reached her mid teens she represented her club on national and international level. At the age of 15 Colette suffered a sporting accident that set her back a lot. She was bed bound for many weeks and it seemed as if her sporting dreams were over. When Colette learnt how to walk again she had her mind set on qualifying for the national championships in athletics. Her determination and discipline over months of hard work paid off when Colette achieved her goal.

Being passionate about and committed to exercising since she was little made Colette want to educate others on physical activity and healthy lifestyle. She initially obtained a double degree as a high school teacher for P.E. and other subjects financing her studies through coaching and teaching aerobics classes.

When Colette moved to Sydney in 1998, fitness became her predominant field of interest and occupation. Colette worked in a number of different health clubs where she managed group exercise and personal training departments. During these years she saw some phenomenal mind & body transformations in people and also conducted classes alongside The Biggest Loser Trainer Michelle Bridges and Joanna McMillan, dietician and nutritionist on Channel 9s TODAY show.

Since 2003, Colette has been operating her own fitness & rehabilitation consultancy. Her focus on safe and professional workout practice has made her a role model to many of her colleagues. It is her ability to empathize, motivate and create an encouraging FUN atmosphere that makes Colette popular amongst her participants.

Interest in how the human body works led Colette to further studies which helped her add remedial and sports massage, rehabilitation and nutritional advice to the scope of services she is able to offer to her clients. Her enthusiasm and desire to improve the skills of new fitness professionals saw her involved in the planning and delivery of fitness courses at the Australasian College of Natural Therapies for several years.

Since moving to Maitland in 2011, Colette has inspired many people to achieve their personal and fitness dreams on a physical as well as mental and emotional level. Seeing whole families “getting the bug” is an achievement she is particularly proud of. Colette’s exercise sessions range from group sessions to One on One training and cater for all age and ability levels.

When her little children started school working with younger children made perfect sense for Colette. Her own programs like Kidz Bootcamp and Zumbatomic have become successful especially amongst primary school aged children.

As a devoted giver Colette has raised funds to help accommodate a family need in the recovery process from illness or injury.

I am so glad that I have joined your classes. I was way out of my comfort zone
today – I am ‘rhythmically challenged’ and it would have to be a cold day in hell before I’d ever sign myself up for an aerobics class. Whilst, unsurprisingly, I was extremely uncoordinated and about 2.5 steps behind everyone else, I
had a ball! Thank you for getting me out of my comfort zone. I’m feeling goodand looking forward to getting back to the ‘old’, fitter me.

As one of Colette’s more “mature” clients I can say that I have never felt my increasing age to be an issue with either Colette or others in the group. She has the ability to treat every one of us individually whatever the class size.I’ve been taking part in Colette’s fitness classes for the past two years now and have never felt fitter, stronger or healthier both physically and mentally.
